AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE BOARD OF PUBLIC A?FAIRS TO PUR-
CHASE A POLICE PATROL CAR, DECLARING AN EIJERGENCY AND FOR OTHER
PURPOSES .
3hereas , the Board of Public Affairs has recommended the pur-
chase of a police patrol car for the use of the Police Department
of the City of Fayettevvle , and has estimated that said purchase
will amount to %6p817 = ;
MI. THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF FAY2TTEVILLE, ARKANSAS :
SEC , I . That the Board of ublic Affairs be and they are hereby
ordered, directed and authorized to take such steps as are necessary
in purchasing a police patrol car for the Police Department of the

` y City of Fayetteville at a cost not to exceed
Me II . It appearing that , since the first day of August ,
members of the police department were not required to furnish c4rs
in connection with their duties as such officers and it is necessary
that other suitable transportation must be immediately furnished. in
order to safeguard the public healt$, peace and safety ; an emergency
is hereby declared to exist and this ordinance shall be in full force
and effect from and after its passage , approval and publication ,
PASSED AND APPROVED THIS 4th DAY OF AUGUST , 1941 ,
