AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE BOARD OF PUBLIC AFFAIRS TO
PURCHASE A FIRE TRUCK FOR THE FIRE DEPARTMENT OF THE CITY
OF FAYETTEVILLE , ARKANSAS ANE' FOR OTHER PURPOSES .
Whereas , the Board of Public Affdars of the City of Fayette -
ville , Arkansas , has recommended the purchase of a Fire Truck for
the Fire Department of the City of Fayetteville , Arkansas , in ac -
cordance with the recommendation of the State Fire Prevention Bu -
reau , to the end that insurance premiums may ultimately be reduced
in the City of Fayetteville , and
WHEREAS , the Board of Public Affairs has estimated that the
cost of such truck will be approximately $3000 . 00 ;
NOW , THEREFORE , BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF FAYETTEVILLE , ARKANSAS ;
SECTION I . The Board of Public Affairs is hereby auth-
orized and instructed to advertise for bids on the purchase of a
Fire truck of the general type recommended by the State Fire Pre -
vention Bureau , and to let the purchase contract to the lowest re -
sponsible bidder at a cost not to exceed $3 , $00 .00 .
SECTION II . This ordinance being necessary for the preserva -
tion of the public health , peace and safety , and emergency is hereby
declared to exist and this ordinance shall be in full force and
effect from and after its passage , approval and publication .
