AN ORDINANCE PRESCRIBING THE MANNER OF ASSIGNING
PARTS OF THE PUBLIC STREETS OF THE CITY OF
FAYETTEVILLE , ARKANSAS , FOR CAB STANDS AND PRO—
HIBITING CABS FROM USING LOCATIONS OTHER THAN
THOSE ASSIGNED AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES.
BE IT ORDAINED, by the Council of the City of Fayetteville ,
Arkansas ;
SECTION 1 . That the City Council of the City of Fayetteville
shall as soon as possible assign to taxi cabs a suitable number
of parking spaces in the City of Fayetteville , Arkansas , in such
locations as in the judgment of the City Council will best serve
the residents and businesses of the City of Fayetteville , Arkansas ,
SECTION 2 . That the assignment of locations for cab stands
shall be designated by a resolution of the City Council aforesaid
and that immediately after said stands are assigned it shall be
the duty of all cab operators within the City of Fayetteville to
use said stands so long as any of said cabs are parked on the streets
of the City of Fayetteville . Frovided , however that this Ordinance
jshall not prohibit the receiving and discharging of fares , on
call , in the normal conduct Af their business .
SECTION 3 . Immediately after the passage .of the resolution
provided in Section 2 hereof , a copy of said resolution shall be
delivered to all persons , firms , partnerships and/or corporations
Ovhlgg and operating taxi cabs companies within the City of
Fayetteville , Arkansas , in order that said persons , firms and/or
corporations may be fully advised as to the locations assigned to
them .
SECTION 4. All cabs not actually in use shall be removed
from the public streets of the City of Fayetteville and shall not
remain parked on said streets except in those places designated
by the City Council ,
SECTION 5 . Immediately after the passage of the resolution
designating parking spaces for cabs as hereinabove provided , any
person , firm or corporation parking any cab on any of the streets
of Fayetteville , Arkansas , except in thoseepaces provided or for the

purpose of receiving _ or discharging fares - shall be dedmed
guilty of a misdemeanor and shall be punished by a fine of not
less than Five Dollars ( $5. 00 ) nor more than Twenty—five Dollars
( $25 . 00 ) .
SECTION 6 . All ordinances and parts of ordinances in conflict
herewith are hereby repealed , and it 'appearing that there are two
cab stands within one—half block of the fire station and that said
cabs create considerable congestion , and this ordinance being

necessary for the immediate preservation of the public health ,
peace and safety , an emergency is hereby declared to exist , and
this ordinace shall be in full force and effect from and after
its passage , approval and publication .
