AN ORDINANCE TO FIR LICENSE FEES ON TRUCKS AND TO '
PROVIDE FOR THE APPLICATION OF DISCOUNTS FOR ..LICENSE
FEE ON ALL CARS UNDER CERTAIN CONDITIONS AND FOR
OTHER PURPOSES ,
BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the City of Fayetteville ,
Arkansas :
SECTION 1 . Beginning on January 11 1939 , there shall be
collected as a license on trucks the fees fixed in the following
schedule , to—wit :
One—Half ton truck . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . $5 . 00 •
Each AdditiondDne—half ton , 2 . 50
RECTION 2 . �Them shall hereafter be paid upon all trailers
used in connection with tractors the sum ,of $2 , 50 for each one—
half ton of capacity ,
SECTION 3 : When any motor driven vehicle becomes subject to
the payment of license after the expiration of the period in which
discounts are allowed , the owner of said motor driven vehicle may
secure a license for the amount which would have been due liad said
vehicle been subject to the ' payment of a license during the period
of discount next preceding the time said vehicle shall become_
subject to the payment of license . Provided, however , that in
order to secure a license - at the discounted rate in accordance with
the provisions of this 3ection , : the owner shall make application
for said license within ten days after said vehicle shall have
become subject to the payment of license , and the City Clerk and
Collector may demand Billcof Sale or such other evidence as he
deems proper in order to determine whether or not application has
been made within said ten day period.
SECTION 4 . The license provi nances� of the
City of Fayetteville and under A hiJordinance may be reduced for ,
such time and from time to time ; qi the City Council of the City of

expressed ,by a resolution duly adopted by said City Cc in they
manner now prescribed by law.
SECTION 5 . Where reference is made to capacity of motor
driven vehicle in this ordinance it shall refer to . the rated ca aey

prescribed or suggested by the manufacturer .
SECTION 6 . All ordinances and parts of ordinances in conflict
herewith are hereby repealed, and this ordinance tieing necessary
for the presersation of the public health , peace and safety , an
emergency is hereby declared to exist , and this ordinance shall be
in full force and effect from and after January 1 , 1939 .
