AN ,ORDINANCE TO PROVIDE FOR MORE UNIFORM EF'FIC ]E,NCY 'IN WATER
SERVICE AND FOR INCRBkSED SANITATION IN. SEWAGE. SERVICE , AND FOR OTHER
PURPOSES .
BE IT ORDAINEDrBY THE CITY UOUNCIL ' OF THE CITY .CF FAYETTEVILLE,
ARKANSAS :
Section l . :mWhere building construction \requires new or additional
plumbing facilities , except minor - repairs , a plan of the 'Mouse Sewer " '
line and plumbingindicating the . number of fixtures , showing the pro-
posed location , ' . kind and sizes of all roughing _in materials must be
submitted to the City Engineer for his approval .

: Section 2 . - If said plans are approved by , the City Engineer , he
Shall endorse his approval thereon , . stating. the number of fixtures shown
on said plane
Section 3 . - Ii Thedplumbingrcontractor. bhall pay W the following
fees : One ( $1 : 00 ) for the "House Sewer " connection to the public sewer ;
OnB. ( $1 . 00 ) dollar for any. plumbing work done in or about any building.
( other than minor repairs ) for one fixture where new (Dr additional fix
tures are being installed, and fifty centa, .extra for each additional
fixture or opening left in sail pipes - or waste pipes for future use .
Section 4 . -The City Clerk shall collect the fees provided in this
Ordinance and shall issute his receipt therefor , which receipt must be,
presented to the Building 'Inspector , of the City of Fayetteville asa
condition precedent to the issuance of . a building permit . Provil ed ,
however , that the City Clerk shall not issue a receipt' under the pro -
visions of this Ordinance until and . unless the City Engineer . shall have
first approyed said plans and endorfsed- his approval thereon as pro -
vided in this Ordinance .
Section ' 5 '' After', plumb'ing `and sewer lines 'are ' roughed-in , and
before plumbing ,and sewer's are enclosed " or 'covered, • t shall be . the duty
of the plumbing contractor to notify ' the City Engineer in order that he =
may determine whether or not said plumbing and sewer lines are installed
in accordance with - the original plans approved by said Engineer ,
Section 6 : -Water shall not be turnedon for permanent service until
and unless the City Engineer shall ha*t, approved the installation of
plumbing and " house sewer" lines .
'Section 7 . -Provi ed , that- this Ordinance shall not affect or• re
. . , .peal the ` payment of a tepos it :or fee -t'o the. Collector of the City Water
Plant for water service and sewer service'.. Ail - Ordinances - and , -parts of
Ordinances in ' conflict _ herewth ' are hereby repealed . ,
ge'ction6 B . -This Ordinance being necessary ,for4the preservation
of the . health , peace and safety • of the residents of the City of; Fayette -
ville , ant emergency is hereby declared ' and . this . Ordinance shall be in
full force and effect from and after its passage , approval . and publi-
cation .
