AN ORDINANCE TO BE ENTITLED " AN ORDINANCE ELECTING THREE MEMBERS OF THE
BOARD OF CIVIL SERVICE COMMISSIONERS OF yFAYETTEVILLE, ARKANSAS , AND
DESIGNATING THE PERIOD FOR WHICH THEY AHALL SERVE AS SUCH CCMMISSIONERS,
ALL IN ACCORDANCE WITH ACT NO . 28 OF THE ACTS OF X3UUa IS THE SBNERAL
ASSEMBLY CF THE STATE OF ARKANSAS FOR THE YEAR 1933%
WHereas bhe 1933 Gsieral Assembly of the State of Arkansas has by act No .
28 , created a board of Civil service Commissioners in cities of the ' first
class having an organized police and fire department , and
Whereas , under said Act it is the duty of the city council to elect
three members bo such a board of commissioners for the term of two ,
four and six years , respectively,
Therefore , be it ordained by the City Council of the City of rayetteville ,
Arkansas ,
SECTION ONE : That C .W . Guisinger is hereby elected for the term of two
years ; C . P . Dodd is hereby elected for the term of four years , Dr . Harrison
Hale is hereby elected for the , term of six year to serve as members
of the board of Civil Service Uommissioners of Fayetteville .
SECTION TWO : The immediate necessity of complying with the provisions
of the state law in regard to the organization of the police and fire
departments in Cities of the first class created an emergency requiring
that this ordinance shall become operative immediately upon its passage ,
approval and publication .
SECTION THREE : That all ordinances or parts of ordinances in confoict
herewith are hereby Itppealed .
