TO PF.OHIBIT E ?DURIsNCE CONTESTS AND PROVIDING A PERALTY FOR THE VIOLATIOf HEREOF. "
Whereas , it has been determined by this body that endurance contests , continuing
for a long time is injurious to health. Therefore :
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF UIE CITY OF FAYETEVILLE, ARKAMAS .
SECTION ONE. That it shall be unlawful for any ,person , organization, firm, or
corporation to conduct , promote , participate in , or cause to be conducted within
the corporate limits of the City of Fayetteville , Arlmnsas , any endurance contests
wherein human beings are contestants therein , which contests lasts for a longer
period than twelve ( I2) hours .
SECTION 7410 . Any person who shall conduct, participate in , or promote any endur-
ance contest within the corporate limits of the City of Fayetteville , Arkansas ,
in violation of section one of this ordinance shall , upon conviction in Police
Court of this City, be fined in any sum not less than twenty-five ( f25 ) Dollars ,
nor more than thirty-five ( ;;35 . 00 ) dollars , and each such violation shall consti-
tute a separate offence .
SECTION THF.EE. This ordinance being for the protection of the public peace ,

health and safety, and in the eseraise of the police powers of the Municipal
Government , and emergenoy is hereby declared to exist , and this ordinance Shall
be in full force and effect from and after its passage , approval and publication.
