ORDINANCE NUMBER 726 .
" AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR OF THE CITY OF FAYETTEVILLE , ARKANSAS .
TO RENT PARKING SPACE ON THE STREETS OF FAYETTEVILLE TO OWNERS OF PUBLIC
CONVEYANCES FOR USE AS TAXI -CAB STANDS : REQUIRING SUCH OWNERS TO MAINTAIN
" STANDS " , AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES .
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FAYETTFVILLE , ARKANSAS :
SECTION ONE :
That each and every person , firm or corporation owning , and/or
operating any public conveyance , taxi -cab or other vehicle for the trans -
portation of passengers for hire within the corporate limits of the City
of Fayetteville , Arkansas , shall be , and is hereby, required to maintain a
" STAND " or place of business where such vehicle shall be parked when not
In service .
SECTION TWO : ~-
That , within ten days after the passage of this ordinance , each
nerson , firm or corporation owning and/or operating such public conveyance
shall notify the Chief of Police of Fayetteville , Arkansas , in writing , of
the location of such " STAND " .
SECTION THREE :
That the Mayor and the Chief of Police be , and they are hereby ,
authorized to rent to jaN1��EN3f#N�N �3f �63E��?E #X �di#3f3FN �N$ f
�EPE3EfkNiFEE3f any person , firm or corporation mentioned in Sec -
tion One hereof , a portion of the parking space of the streets of Fayetteville ,
Arkansas , for use as a Taxi -cab " STAND" , said space to be designated and
the limits thereof established by •the Mayor and the Chief of Police .
The rental charge, shall be TWENTY ( $20 . 00 ) DOLLARS per . annum for space
sufficient for one vehicle .
SECTION FOUR :
Upon the payment of the rental fee mentioned in Section Three
hereof , the City Collector shall issue a Permit specifying the location of
the " STAND " as designated by the Mayor , or Chief of Police .
SECTION FIVE :
That nay person , firm or corporation violating any of the
provisions of this ordinance shall be deemed guilty of a misdemeanor , and
upon conviction therefor in the Police Court , shall pay a fine of not
less than $ 5 . 00 nor more than $ 15 . 00 .
SECTION SIX :
That all ordinances and parts of ordinances in conflict herew
with be , and the same are hereby , repealed, and this ordinance shall take
effect and be in force from and after its passage , approval and
publication .
