ORDINANCE NO . 2
AN ORDINANCE TO ESTABLISH THE SCHEDULE OF FEES
FOR BUILDING PERMITS, AND FOR INSPECTION OF BUILDINGS IN THE CITY
OF FAYETTEVILLE, ARKANSAS .
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF . THE CITY OF FAYETTEVELLE ,
ARKANSAS :
SECTION ONE :
That hereafter it shall be unlawful for any person,
persona , firm or corporation to erect or construct, ateer , repair ,
remodelremove or move from one . location to another location, any
building within the corporate limits of the City of Fayetteville ,
Arkansas , without first having received from the Building Inspector
of said City a written permit .to , do so .'
SECTION TWO •
That the following . schedule of fees for Building
permits is hereby established , to-wit ;
For a permit , when ;the co.st, including labor and material , exclusive
of wiring and plumbing is $1 , 000 . 00 or less . . . . . . $J. 00 ;
For a permit , when the cost , including labor and material , exclusive
of wiring" and -plumbing is more than $1 , 000. 00, for each addition .
al thousand dollars or fraction thereof , . . . . . . 50�.
Each separate . building must have a separate permit .
SECTION THREE :
That the following schedule of fees for inspection
of buildings in said City is hereby established, to-wit ;
For the inspection of a building , when the erection, alteration, repair,
remodelling or removal is estimated to cost , including labor and
material , eaclusive of wiring and plumbing , I $1 , 000 . 00 to
$10 , 000 . 00 , the inspection fee shall be . . . $2 , 00
for each $1 , 000 . 00 or fraction thereof .
For each , additional $1 , 000 . 00, from $10 , 0001400 to $251000 . 009 $1 . 50
for each $1 , 000 . 00 or fraction thereof .
For each additional $1 , 000 . 00 , from $25 ; 000 . 00 to 00 , 0000000 , $1000
for each $1 , 000 . 00 or fraction thereof .

SECTION THREE : «. "
The .values used in • determining the fees for permits and
for inspection shall be stated in the application , and upon the comple-
tion of the improvement , theapplicant may be required to make affidavit
as to the total cost thereof -"�'a'' rs• � '

In the event the Building Inspector finds it necessary to make
additional inspections because of defective or faulty work or
material which has - been ordered_ corrected . - he shall collect an

additional fee for each of such inspections . The payment of this
additional fee shall not relieve the parties of the penalties
prescribed .for violations of the provisions of the building code
of the City of Fayetteville , Arkansas .
SECTION FOUR :
The fees herein provided may be waived ' at the . discre -
tion of the Building Inspector for repairs or alterations outside
the Fire District , ' when said 'repairs or alterations shall cost less
than $500 . 00 .
SECTION FIVE :
The fees herein provided for. Building Permits shall .
be paid into the City General Fund ; but the fees herein provided
for inspection of buildings shall be paid to the City Inspector , as
remuneration for his services ..
SECTION SIX :
This Ordinance shall take . effect and be in force from and
after its passage , approval and . publication, but shall not repeal any
ordinance of the City of Fayetteville , except the same be in direct
conflict herewith .
