HomeMy WebLinkAboutOrdinance 600 ORDINANCE N0, 600 AN CRDINANCE TO R'3t;JLATE TH'7 LAYING OF i,ATrsR AND SElvTR SERUICF COH??FCTIOriS , T[fi3 L'OWS`iCTIDIG Ol THE; PAIIF TO T1C CITY MA147%IS AND FOR OTIRR •'URPOS S , „IIERSAS, it is necessary for the City of Fayetteaille, Arkansas to definitely regulate and control the cutting of streets and public alleys within the City of Fayetteville , Ark. ; and LIMEAS , it is necessary that a comolete and accurate record be kept of all water and sewer connections to the city mains of the water and sewer systems of the City of Fayetteville , Arkansas , NO:; , THEREFORE , BE IT ORDAINED BY THR CITY COUNCIL OF FAYGMYIT,LE , ARK . : 1, That hereafter it shhll be unlawful for any person, persons , firm, or corporation to digmolest, or disturb in any way the surface of any una. ved street within the City of Fayetteville , Arkansas without first obtaining a permit from the Ilayor of said City or some person whom said Mayor shall designate to represent him. 2 . That hereafter it shall be unlawful for any person, persons , firms , or corporation, other than a representative of the City Prater I'lant, who has been designated by the Board of Managers of said crater plant or a representa— tive of the Sewer Commissioners of Sewer Improvement Districts of the City of Fayetteville , Arkansas to lay, construct, or cause to be laid or constructed any water or sewer pipe within the public streets or alleys of the City of Fayetteville , Arkansas , or to make any connection to water or sewer mains belonEine to the City of Fayetteville, Arkansas , or to laprovement Districts operatint; in said City of Fayetteville , Arkansas , 3 . That any person, persons , firm, or corporation who desire water or server connections with the mains of the City of Fayetteville , Arkansas shall make application for such connection to the City Collector of Fayetteville , Arkansas . Upon approval of said application for such connection by the Board or their duly authorized representative , said connection shall be constructed by the person or persons designated by the Commissioners of Sewer District and Board of Managers of City Later Plant at a cost of not to exceed rr5 . 00 for making the connection to the server main and an additional cost of not to exceed . 60 cen „s fro each foot of four inch sewer line which is necessary to carry the sewer connection from the sewer main on the proper grade to property line of the property of the person making application ; and that each water con— nection shall be made to the -.rater main and curb cock and curb box installed at a cost of not to exceed •.eOO and an additional charge of not to exceed 50¢ for each foot of 3A inch pipe laid from the main ori the proper grade to the property line of the person making application. 4. No water or sewer line connection shall be laid in the streets of the City of Fayettevillo unless the same be 24 inches below the surface of the pavement grade as established for the permanent grade of the City of Fayetteville by the City Engineer, except thait sewer mains which cannot be reach^d on account of grade . In that case , each application shall be taken before the Board of Commissioners of the Sewer Districts of the City of Fayetteville , Arkansas , and passed upon by said Body and if :.aid Board deems it advisable to permit a conrcction to bo made , at a death less than that prescribed by said Board xdwz funder which said connection may be made .
