AN ORDINANCE DECLARING THE TOTAL AMOUNT OF INDEBTEDNESS OF THE CITY OF
FAYFTTEVILLFs ARKANISAS OUTSTANDING AT VE TIME OF TFLc; ADOPTION. OF
AMENDIMPNT NUMBER ELEVEN TO VF COidSTITUTION OF TiEv STATE OF AIUCA'MiS .
BE IT ORDARTED BY TRE CITY COUNCIL OF FAYETTEVILLE, ARKANSAS :
1 . It is hereby ascertained and declared in accordance with and
as required by Section 1 of Act No . 210 of the Acts of the General
Assembly of the State of Arkansas for the year 1925, entitled "An Act
to Facilitates the Funding of the Debts of Counties, Citi :s , and Incorporated
Towns .. " approved March 23, 1925s that the indebtedness of the City of
Fayetteville, Arkansas , outstanding at the t.n* of the adopti )n of
Amendment No . 11 to the Constitution of the State of Arkansas , on October
7 , 1924, was 3eventyWseven thousand, Five Hundred and Thirty-four and
47/100 ($77 . 534. 47 ) Dollars, all of which indebtedness is still e:itstanding.
2. This Ordinance shall ba published i7xnediately after its nassafe
and approval for one insertion in the "Fayetteville Democrat", a newspaper
published in the City of Fayetteville , Arkansas .
3. It is hereby ascertained and declared that by reason of the heavy
indebtedness hanging over the City of Fayetteville , Arkansas , it is unable
to procure or maintain proper facilities for safe guarding against fire ,
proper police protection, or proper public healthmeasures , and that there-
fore , an emergency is declared to exist, and it is necessary for the pre-
servation of the public peace, health, and safety, that this Ordinance
should go into its effect immediately, and therefore the same shall take
effect and be in force from and after its passa(.e , approval. , and publication.
