AN ORDINANCE TO BE ENTITLED, "AN ORDINANCE TO LEVY THE ASSESSMENT UPON
THE REAL PROPERTY WITHIN DOUGLAS STREET IMPROVEMENT DISTRICT NUMBER ONE
OF THE CITY OF FAYETTEVILL4 ARKANSAS . "
WHEREASo the majority in value of the property holders owning property
{ a adjoining the lots to be affected and situated in Douglas Street Improve -
a .
e� ment District Number One of the City of Fayetteville , Arkansas , brganized
for the purpose of grading, rolling and paving the streets and parts of
streets within said Douglas Street Improvement District Number One of the
City of Fayetteville , Arkansas , have petitioned the City Council of the
City of Fayetteville , Arkansas , for the construction of said Improvement
and that the co9ts thereof shall be charged and assessed against the real
property within said District according to the benefits to be received ;
and
WHEREAS , said benefits received by each lot or block or parcel of
real property situated within said District equals or exceeds the local
assessment ; and
WHEREAS , the estimate of cost of said Improvement is $7500 . 00,
NOW, THEREFORE , ,BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
FAYETTEVILLE , ARKANSAS :
SECTION ONE : That said several lots , blocks and parcels of reql
property within the said District be assessed according to the assessment
list for said Improvement District as thelsame now remains in the Office
of the Recorder or City Clerk ; and that 10 per centum of said lots , blocks
and papcels shall be paid annually on or before t1B first Monday in January
until the. whole of the said local assessment shall be paid .
SECTION TWO : That all Ordinances and parts of Ordinances in conflict
herewith , be , and the same are hereby repealed, and this Ordinance shall
take effect and be in force from and-after- its passage , approval and publi -
cation .
