AN ORDINANCE TO BE ENTITLED, "AN ORDINANCE TO LEVY THE ASSESSMENT
UPON THE REAL PROPERTY WITHIN DOUGLAS STREET IMPROVEMENT DISTRICT NUMBER
ONE OF THE CITY OF FAYETTEVILLE , ARKANSAS . "
WHEREAS , the majority in value of the property holders owning property
adjoining the lots to be affected and situated in Douglas Street Improve-
ment District Number One of the City of Fayetteville ; Arkansas , organized
for the purpose of grading; rolling and paving the streets and parts of
streets within said Douglas Street Improvement District Number One of the
City of Fayetteville , Arkansas , have petitioned the City Council of the
City of Fayetteville , Arkansas , for the construction of said Improvement
and that the costs thereof shall be charged and assessed against the real
property within said District accotding to the benefits to be received ;
and
VMEREAS , said benefits received by each lot or block or parcel of
real property situated within said District equals or exceeds the local
assessment ; and
WHEREAS , the estimate of cost of said Improvement is
NOWO THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COURCIL OF THE CITY OF
FAYETTEVILLE , ARKANSAS :
SECTION ONE : That said several lots ; blocks and parcels of real
property within the said District be assessed according to the assessment
list for said Improvement District as the same now remains in the Office
of the Recorder or City Clerk ; and that 10 per centum of said lots , blocks
gnd parcels shall be paid annually on or before the first Monday in
January until the whole of the said local assessment shall be paid .
SECTION TWO : That all Ordinances and parts of Ordinances in conflict
herewitht' bel and the same are hereby , repealed, and this Ordinance shall
take effect and be in force from and after its passage , approval and
publication .
