AN ORDINANCE TO BE ENTITLED , " AN ORDINANCE ANNEXING CERTAIN
TERRITORY TO NEST LAFAYETTEK AVENUE IMPROVEMENT DISTRICT NUMBER ONE
OF THE CITY OF FAYETTEVILLE , AFRANSAS ,AND TO BE KBOWN AS ANNEX NUMBER
ONE TO NEST LAFAYETTE AVENUE IMPROVEMENT DISTRICT NUMBER ONE OF THE
CITY OF FAYETTEVILLE , ARKANSAS . "
WHEREAS , the majority in value of the owners of real property on
West Maple Street from the East line of Arkansas Avenue to the East line
of Vandeventer Avenue , North west Avenue from the North line of west La-
fayette Avenue to the South line of west Maple Street , and Aandeventer
Avenue from the North line of West Lafayette Avenue to the South line of
West Maple Street , have petitioned the City Council of the City of Fay.
etteville , Arkansas , to annex the same to west Lafayette Avenue Improve"
ment District Number One of the City of Fayetteville , Arkansas , and due
notice has been given of the filing of said Petition ; and that the same
would be heard on the 4th day of February , 1924 ;
WHEREAS , on said 4th day of February , 1924 , the time fixed in said
notice for the hearing of said Petition , to determine whether those sign.
ing the same constituted a majority in value of the owners of real prop-
erty sought to be annexed , it was decided by the City Council of said Sity
of Fayetteville to continue said hearing until February 11 , 1924 ;
WHEREAS , on said llth day of February , 1924 , it was decided by the
City Council of said Cit -+ of Fayetteville to further continue said
hearing until February 18 , 1924 , at 7 : 30 P . M . ; and
WHEREAS , on said 18th day of February , 1924 , the time so fixed by
said City Council of said City of Fayetteville for the hearing of said
Petition , to determine whether those signing the same constituted a
majority in value of the owners of real property sought to be annexed ,
after hearing all persons who desired to be heard , as to whether said
Petition contained the signatures of such majority , the said City Coun.
cil of said City of rayetteville , Arkansas, did ascertain and declare
that said Petition did contain the signatures of a majority of the
owners of real property within said territory, according to the last
preceeding assessment for State and County taxes in the said territory ,

and as shown by the records of deeds and by actual ownership ; and that
said Petition is in due form, and as required by law.
NOW , THEREFORE , BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
FAYETTEVILLE , ARKANSAS :
SECTION ONE : That the hereinbefore described real property , West

Maple Street from the East line of Arkansas Avenue to the East line of
Vandeventer Avenue , North West Avenue from the North line of West LaFay_
ette Avenue to the South line of West Maple Street , and Vandeventer Ave-
nue from the North line of West LaFsyette Avenue to the South line of
West Maple Street , be , and the same is hereby , annexed to said West La-
Fayette Avenue Improvement District Number One of the City of Fayette-
ville , Arkaneas .
SEDTION TWO : That all Ordinances and parts of Ordinances in con.
flict herewith be , and the same are hereby, repealed , and this Ordinance
shall take effect and be in force from and after its passage , approval
and publication .
