BE IT ORDAITMD BY TIE: CITY COUNCIL OF FAYETTZVIT Lr, , ARKATISAS :
Sec . 1 . That all buildings of vfhatsc?'ver nature shall be constructed
in accordance with the Building Code of the 3ity of I' ayetteville , Arkansas
v}eich was adpnt3d by the City Council of tine City of Fayetteville , Arkansas
on the 21st day of May, 1923 .
Sec. 2 . That hereafter _t shall be unlawful for any person, persons ,
firm, or corporation to erect a building of any character in the City of
Fayetteville , Arkansas Yrithcut first submitting his or their plans and
specifications , also location by lot and block number and the use for which
suoh building is to be used, to the City `3ntineer.
Sec - ' 3. It shall be the duty of the City Engineer to promptly examine
the same and submit the same to the City 3ouncil with such recommendations
as he deers proper to :Hake .
Sec . 4. It shall be the duty of, the City Council to examine promptly
and carefully the report of the City '"ne.ineer when made , and if it is found
t: .at the building so erected would not render the property less safe and Vdill
not be detrimental to the property of said city, it will be the' duty of the
City Council - to issue a license to said party to erect said building in
accordance with such plans and specifications . A charge of ?5. 50 will be
made fora permit to erect a building within the fire district and a charge
of x;3 . 50 will be made for a permit . to erect a building outside 'of the fire
district . Said fse shall be paid by the person mald.ng the application for
permit to the City jollector of the City of Fayetteville , Arkc- nsas , and a
receipt shall be submitted to the City i?ngineer vrith tho plans and specifica-
tions .
Sec . 5. 1+ny and all persons who violate any of the provisions of this
Ordinance or fail to comply therewith, or who shall violate or •fail to comply
hit[; any order or regulation made thereunder or who shall build in violation of any
detailed statement of specifications or plan submitted and approved thereunder
or any certificate or permit issued thereunder, shall severally for each and
every such violation and non-compliance respectively forfeit and pay a penalty
in the sun of x25. 00. The imposition of one penalty for any violation of this
Ordinance shall not excuse the vitiation or pormit it to continue ; and all such
persons shall be required to correct or romegy . such violations or defects
%ithin a reasonable time and when not othexn,vse specifioed, each ten days
that prohibited conditions are maintained shall constitute a separate offense .
The application of the above penalty hr. l not be held to ;prevent the
enforced removal, of prohibited conditiO'ils :nd any structlL?`e elzected Vf thollt

Sec . 6. : 11 Ordinances and parts of Ordinances in conflict herewith
are hereby repoaled .
Seca 7 . This Ordinance shall take effect and be in force ;from and after
