AN ORDINANCE TO BE ENTITLED , " AN ORDINANCE ANNEXING CERTAIN TERRITORY
' TO EAST STREET IMPROVEMENT DISTRICT NUMBER OTTE OF THE CITY OF FAYETTEVILLE ,
ARKANSAS ., AND TO BE KNOWN AS ANNEX NUMBER. TWO TO EAST STREET IMPROVEMENT DIS_
TRICT NUMBER ONE OF THE CITY OF FAYETTEVILLE , ARKANSAS . "
WHEREAS , the majority in value of the owners of real property on
Spring Street , from the West line of Block Street to the West line of Church
Street ; Church Street , from the North line of Spring Street to the South
line of Dickson Street ; Dickson Street ; from the West line of St . Charles
Street to the East line of Arkansas Avenue ; West Street , from the North
line of Dickson Street to the South line of Lafayette Street ; and Gregg
Street , from the South line of Ida Avenue to the North line of Dickson
Street , have petitioned the City Council of the City of Fayetteville , Ark-
ansas , to Annex the same to East Street Improvement District Number One of
the City of Fayetteville , Arkansas , and due notice has been given of the
filing of said petition and that the same would be - heard on the 7th day of
April , 1921 ; and
WHEREAS , on said 7th day of April , 1921 , the time fixed in said notice
for the hearing of said petition , to determine whether those signing the
same , constituted a majority in value of the owners of real property sought
to be annexed , after hearingall be
persons who desired toy heard , as to whether
said petition contained the signatures of such majority , the City Council
of the City of Fayetteville , Arkansas , did ascertain and declare that said
petition did contain the signatures of a majority of the owners of real
property within said territory , according to the last preceding assessment
for State and County Taxes in the said territory , and as shown by the re-
cords of deeds and by actual ownership , and that said petition is in due
form and as required by law ,
NOW , THEREFORE , BE ' IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
FAYETTEVILLE , ARKANSAS :
SECTION ONE . That the hereinbefore described real property , Spring
Street , from the West line of Block Street to the West line of Church Street ;
fit.
2 .
Church Street , from the North line of Spring Street to the South line of
Dickson Street ; Dickson Street , from the West line of St . Charles Street
to the East line of Arkansas Avenue ; West Street , from the North line of
Dickson Street to the South line of Lafayette Street ; and Gregg Street , from
the South line of Ida Avenue to the A�orth line of Dickson Street , be , and the
same is hereby , annexed to said East Street Improvement District Number One
of the City of Fayetteville , Arkansas , to be known as Annex Number Two to
East Street Improvement District Number One of the City of Fayetteville ,
Arkansas , and that J . P . Scott , J .W . Baxter , and J . B . Otto are hereby appointed
assessors to assess the benefits accruing to ' said territory from the im_
provement to be constructed by said East Street Improvement District Num..
ber One of the City of Fayetteville , Arkaneas , as required by law.
SECTION TWO . That all Ordinances and parts of Ordinances in conflict
herewith be , and the same are hereby, repealed , and this Ordinance shall take
effect and be . in froce from and after its passage , approval and publication .
