AN ORDINANCE RSDUCITIG TM WIDTH OF c:ALNUT STREET.
UrRSAS , _ The street locally kn= and designated as Fealnut Street in
the City of Fayetteville , Arkansas , is sixty feet Bride, and 17HMSAS, on
account of the location of said street and the character of the ground over
which said street has been laid out and established is so rough, .uneven and
rocky and extends over and across Cround where it is impossible to malce - a
street over which the public might pass and use for the general public con-
venience , and
WHER AS , said street is so located and situated that same is practically
worthless to the public and has not been nor can be used by the public without
the outlay of expenses making same prohibitive , and,
I,HFZSAS, if said street shoudl be reduced in width by taking twenty feet
of equal and uniform width off of the east side of said street from a point
where said Street intersects east Spring Street on the north to a point at
the southern extremity of said streets thereby reducing the width of said
street from 60 feet to 40 feet that said street so reduced to the vridth of
40 feet could and would be opened up and placed in good condition for the
public use and convenience without any expense to the City of Fayetteville ,

Sec . 1 . That said l:alnut Street locally known as Walnut Street in the
City of Fayetteville .. Ark:.nsaR , be and the same is by the City Council of the
City of Fayetteville , Ark. be and the same is' hereby reduced in width by Laking .
20 feet of equal and uniform width off of the east side of said street from a
point where said street intersects east Spring Street in said City to the
southern extremity of said ialnut Street and that said strip of 20 feet along
the said east side of said street is by said City vacated and said part of said
street so vacated shall hereafter not be known nor remain as any -.?art or parcel
of said Inalnut StreAt as the came is now located am : locally knot.n as ' such, and
said strip shall not hereafter be known, taken, used, or designated as a part
of any street, alley, or thoroughfare of said City of Fayetteville , Ark.
Sec . 2 . That the City of Fayetteville , Ark. , hereby releases all
claims, rights , title , or interest of any kind or nature rhatsoever in and to
said 20 foot strip off of and along the oast side of said F.alnut Street,
locally known as such where the same i"r now: located and extending from a point
where said Vialnut Street intersebts eaaASpring Street in the City of Fr..yette-
ville , Ark. , and extending south to- the southern extremity of said street.
Sec . 3. Th::t all Ordinance and resoluti ,ns of the City of Fayetteville
in conflict herewith be and the same are hereby repealed .
