AN ORDINANCE TO PJACND SECTIONS 19 AND 21 OF 01DINANCr NULMEiR 361,
PASSED hND APPROV';D ON THE 12TH DAY OF JULY, 1916,
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUINCTT, OF FAYETT?VILL;, ARRA?T ., S :
Sec . 1. That Section 19 of Ordinance 361, passed and approved on the
12th day of July 1916, be amended to read. as fbllors :
"All vehicles shall be parked on the right hand side of the street by head-
ing into the curb at an angle of 45 degrees . No vehicle shall ba parked
within 20 feet of a fire hydrant. No vehicle shall turn around in a block
but shall continue on the right hand side and oxecute the turn after past
the center of an inttersecting street. Provided, this provision shall only
apply to streets within 2 full blocks of the Public Square or the inter-
section of West and Dickson Streets . "
Sec . 2 . That Section 21 of said Ordinance 361 be amended to read as
follows ;
"No person in control of a vehicles on any street within the City of
bayetteville shall travel greater than is reasonable and propert having
just regard to the traffic and use of the way or so as to endanger the
life or limb or injure the prop-arty of any person. If the speed of any
vehicle operated upon any street in this city, v:heresame passes through
the closely built business sections exceeds 15 miles an hour for a distance
of 1/8 of a mile, or if the rate of speed of any vehicle operated on any
street outside the closely built business and residence portion of the
City exceeds 20 miles an hour for a distance of 1/4 of a mile , such rates
of speed shall be PRU A FACIE evidence that the person operating such
vehicle is running at a rate of speed greater than is reasonable and proper
having regard to the traffic and the use of tha wary, or so as to endanger
the life or limb or injure the property of any person. In going around
corners where the operator' s view is obstructed no vehicle shall exceed 6
miles an hour. Ample wvarning shall be given by sounding horn or signal
before the turn is made . Providcd, the speed lindt imposed in this section
shall not apply to fire apparatus , ambulances, doctors , vehicles when plainly
desiEmated as such or police vehicles .
Sec . 3. That this Ordinance be in force from and after its passage
approval , and publication and all Ordinances or parts thereof in conflict
herewith be and the saw are hereby repealed.
