An ordinanee granting to the Chief of tt:e Fayetteville Ili= Department
certain ruts / powers, and 'authority and providing for a penalty for the
failure to comply with the orders of the said 3hie £ of the Fayetteville Fire
Department .
Be it ordained by the Council of the City of Nyettevillo9 Ark. :
Sec . 1 . The Chief of the Fayetteville Fire Department is hereby granted
the authority right and power to enter into any premises or into any building
within the City of Fayetteville , Arkansas for the purpose of reducing the
danger of fire , ' by causing to be removed or controlled, any substances calcu-
lated to increase the danker of fire .
Sec. 2 . That when in the judgment of the said Chief of Fayetteville Fire
Department there is stored or kept in any building or on any premises , in a
hazardous manner, any substances which are a menace to the safety of the city,
it shall be the duty of the said Fire Chief to at once order the removal or
control of same in such manner as to render the same less dangerous .
Sec. 3. It shall be the duty of ary parson or persons so ordered by the
said Fire Chief to comply with such orders within 24 hours from the hour the
order is issued by the said Fire Chief.
Sec. 4. Any person or persons so ordered who fail or refuse to comply
with such orders within twenty four hours shall be deemed guilty of a misde-
meanor and upon conviction thereof shall be fined in any aum not less than
five dollars nor more than twenty five dollars .
Sec . 5. That upon a shvri-�ng being made to the Polio Judge of the City
of Fayetteville , Arkansas that to comply with the order of the Chief of the
Fpyetteville 'Fire Department within twenty four hours would be impossible or
impracticable or would cause great or irreparable injurj to the person or
persons so ordered the said Police Judge may extend the time in which to
comply with such orders as justice may require.
