Sec 1 . That Section 2 of said Jrdiaunce ^,o. 308 be .vrended to read
as follows , "The Street Commis;>ioner is hereby empowered and authorized
to e:auloy all labor whether of men or teams that may be required to exe-
cute the work under his supervision, he scall not elan or be interested in
any anial:ls , teams, or wili-ons , or i:aple:,cnts o : any klnd • or description
v.hatevor, thtt is used or worked on tae streets or n:blic v,orks of the
city unless by the consent of a :,ajority of the members of the %Street
Com ,d.ttoe . The Street Cormaissioner shall not be intoronted directly or
indirectly in any contract for cork u_non the streets and alleys or other
public works of the Oity . Should the Street Corvaissioner without the con-
sent of the :.ajority of the Street Cot-wai.ttee , throu,h any contract Jr
device , work, e:nsloy or be interested in any animals ., terms , wnronr., , or
implements• used upon the streets , alleys , or other public works of the City
he sha11 be deemed l-uilty of a cuisdemeanor and upon conviction in the Police
Joart shall be fined in any stun not less than five doth: rs nor more than
twenty five dollars for the first offense , and for the second offense , he
shLll in addition to the fins be removed from office by the City Council .
