AN ORDINANCE TO ESTABLISH A FIRE DISTRICT `NITHIN THE CITY
OF FAYETTEVILLE AND TO REGULATE BUILDING OF SAME .
Be It Ordained by the City Council of the City of Fayette—
ville , Arkansas :
Sec . 1 . A Fire District composed of all of the property East of
Gregg Street and :Pest of Locust Street which is not more than four hundred
and twenty five ( 925 ) feet North of the center of Dickson Street and six
hundred and twenty ( 620 ) feet South of the center of Dickson Street ; ex-
cept South half of Block 5 and the South half of Block 6 , Original Town ,
Sec . 2 . It shall hereafter be unlawful for any person , persons
or corporations or firm to build , construct , repair =at or move from one
place to another within the district designated in Section 1 of this
ordinance , or structure of any kind , size or description whatever , unless
She outer walls and all exposed parts of said building to be built of
brick and mottar , or stone and mortar , or concrete and covered with a
fare proof roof .
Sec . 3 . Any person , persons , corporation or firm who shall build ,
construct , repair or move any building or structure of any kind in violation
of this ordinance shall be deemed guilty of a misdemeanor and upon con_
viction thereof shall be fined in the sum of twenty five dollars for each
offense .
Sec . A . Each twenty four hours that any building or structure moved
or erected in violation of this ordinance shall be allowed to stand , shall
be and same is hereby declared to be a separate offense .
Sec . 5 . That all ordinances and parts of ordinances in conflict
with this ordinance be and same is hereby repealed and this ordinance be
in force from and after its passage and publication .
