AN ORDINANCE TO PROTECT SERVICE BOXES , VALES AND FIFE
HYDRANTS AND OTHER PROPERTY BELONGING TO THE CITY WATER PLANT OF
FAYETTEVILLE $ ARKANSAS : —
Be It Ordained , By the City Council of the City of
Fayetteville , Arkansas :
That hereafter it shall be unlawful , for any person
5 + or persons to remove or cause to be removed any service box which
is now set or may be set on or over any water service line . leading, into
any residence , lot or block or other place flat herein mentioned .
That all persons or person engaged in the construction
si% side walks in the City of Fayetteville , Arkansas , be and are here
by required to carefully keep all service boxes in properplace within
the curb ; and be true and straight and the lid or opening of said
service boxes to be flush with the surface of the side walk .
Be it ordained further ; that should any contractor
f�Q � q r street commissioner find that any service box will be left too
tkiv('far outside of any walk or too far outside of any walk during, the
construction of saite , or should service box be too low , he will at
once notify the Supt . or his assistant of the City Water Plant of the
requirement to make such service boxes confirm to the ordinance .
That any person who shall violate any of the provisions

rf this ordinance shall be deemed quilty of a misdemeanor and shall
be kim punished by a fine of not less than five dollars and not more
than ten dollars .
