Be it ordain by th2. t-v council of the city of Fayetteville ,
Arkansas ,

q� street in the city of Fayetteville . Provided , this ordinance shall not
• apply to electric signs erected or maintained in accordance with the
provisions of this ordinance , nor to small signs extending not more
than eighteen inches from the building to which the sign may be attached .
Section . 2 . That any person who may desire to erect or maintain an electric
NNr sign extending over or across any sidewalk of street in the city or

extending more than eighteen inches from the building to which it may
be attached , shall submit to the city council an application for a
permit to erect or maintain such sign together with a design and speo -

ppear thereon . If the city council approves such application

dee6gn and specifications , such approval shall be made of record in
the proceedings ~" of the council , and it shall there upon be lawful for
the applicant to erect or maintain such sign .
/ Section . 3 . That any person violating any of the provisions of this or -
dirance shall be guilty of a misdemeanor and. upon conviction thereof
shall be fined in the police court , in any sum not less than five , nor
more than fifteen dollars , and each day that any such unlawful sign
shall be maintained over over or across any such sidewalk or street
