Ordinance Eo . 247 .
An ordinance regulating the obstruction of any
street , alley , gutter or sidevialk in the City of Fayetteville +
by building material or otherwise ,
Be It ond.ained by the City Council of the city
of $ayetteville , Arkansas : -
Section I . Hereafter It shall be unlawful for any person or
xpersons , to occupy any portion of the public streets , alleys
or sidewalks or commons within the limits of by •building materials
without first obtainigg a permit therefor as herein af: 'ar prov-
ided . .
Section 2 . The portion of any public street which may be occup -
ied by material necessary- for a building in the co urse of con -
structi. onshall not exceed the dimensions of the building to be
erected and twenty five feet in addition therto , and not exceed -
one third of the street in breadti: , and such occupation of a
public street shall not be prolonged to-what may be in the judgemeb
of the city F.ng = neer or the ;dayor an unreasonable or unnecessary
period , provided. that no building r.:aterial" shall be - laced .- ithin
four feet of any fire plug , pump or hyd.rant or foot 1-ay crossing
or within twenty four inches of any curb stone , or upon any

Section 4 . Any person or persons . who shall violate the provis -
ions of this Ordinance shall be deemed guilty of a misdemeanor
and upon conviction shall be fined in any sum ndt exceeding ten
dollars , in the first place and three dollars for each day the
offense is committed .
Section 5 . All ordinates in confl -ict withthis ordinance be and
the . same ftehereby repealed , and this ordinance shall take effect
and be in force from and after its passage and publication .
