BE IT ORDAINED By the City Council of the City of Fayetteville , Arkansas :
Sec . 1 . That from and after June 30th , 1908 , it shall be unlawful
for any person or firm to engage in the business of Plumbing, or the lay-
ing of sewer connections or in the business ,of Sidewalk Layer without first
obtaining a license from the City authorizing him or them to engage in such
business .
Sec . 2 . Said Plumber' s or Drainlayer ' s license shall be issued by
the Clerk as in other cases upon satisfactory evidence that the applicant
is qualified to parfo m said work and upon payment to the City Collector
of an annual license fee of One ( $1 .00) Dollar.
Sec . 3 . The Sidewalk Layer' s license shall be issued in the same
manner upon the applicant furnishing satisfactory evidence of his quali-
fi ations to engage in the business of Sidewalk Layer and upon payment of
the same fee as required of Plumbers and Drainlayers .
Sac . 4. Any person engaging in either of the said occupations or
performing any work pertaining thereto without first obtaining said license
shall be deemod guilty of a Misdemeanor , and upon conviction thereof shall
be fined in any sum not less than Five ( $5 .00) Dollars , nor more than Twon-
\ ty- fivo ( $25 .00) Dollars , and each day such person shall engage in such
business without such license shall be and constitute a separato offenco ,
\vim Provided , That this section shall not apply to person s in the employ of
and working under supervision of a licensed Contractor as herein set
forth.
Sec . 5 . All Ordinances and parts of Ordinances in conflict with
the provisions of this Ordinance are hereby repealed and this Ordinance
shall be in force and effect an and after June 30th, 1908.
