fim ordinance providing for the operation , management and control
of 'he waterv: orks In the City of i'aybtteville , Arkansas ,
Be it ordained by the City Council of the city of Fayetteville ,
Arkansas : ,
Section . I . That the system of `"aterviorks in the city of Fayetteville ,
Arkansas , be and remain under the control and mans t . ment of the said Board
of Improvement of sai ,7 ':'ater Improvement District�o , I . saisd laaterworks h
having been recently purchased from the Fayetteville "'ater Comp any by
the Board of Improvement of "'ater Improvement District 17o . I , until the
bonds issued by said Board on the first day of August , I9o7 and disposed
of by it are fully redeemed paid off and satisfied ,
Section . 2 . Said Board of Improvemont is hereby invested with full po:^er
and authority to employs superintendent of said :"aterworks and such other
employes as may be neeeesary to keen in repair and efficiently operate
said "'aterviorkc plants and to fix the compensation for their services ;
and said Board of Improvement shall have the power to supply water to
customers and to cliarE- e and collect uniform charges for such service ,
and generally to exercise all the porters , in the operation of the said
7aterworks to be hereafter possessed by the City if the same - ere operated
and managed by it s provided b. law ,
Section , 3 , Said Superintendent shall execute a bond with good securit:Y
tc be approved by theBoard , in the sum of f5 . 000 to the chairman of said
Bcard for the faithful discharge of his duties .
Section . 4 , It shall be the duty of the said Superintendent to superv'_ se
t:: e operation of tae said ";stere✓o% and to deep tiie same in good repair
collect all accounts from persons of; corporations to whom water is furnish -
ed , keep and render an account to said Board quarterly for all sums of
roncyjgzio : collected by him and of all accounts due for water supplied to
customers ; to pay over quarterly to the Treasurer of said District all

moneys so collected ; and to execute and carry out such rules and regulation
as may be adopted by said Board for regulating the supply of water to the
rCity and its inhabitants , And said Superintendent shall perform suer f,irthcr

cord in the Recorders office of Washingtbn County ; County , Arkansas .
Section . o . That this ordinance take effect and be in force from and
after its passage , approval , and publication ,
