Ordinance #225 ,
ORDINANCE PREVENTING ACCIDENTS FROI.t VETE II:IPROPER
AND RECiiLESS DRIVING OF AUTOMOBILES ,
BE IT ORDAINED by the City Council of the City of Fayetteville ,
Arkansas :
SECTION 1 : That any person driving or propelling an automobile
within the corporate limits of the City of Fayetteville , Arkansas
shall be at least Eighteen years of age .
SECTION 2 : Any person driving or propelling an automobile
within the corporate limits of the City of Fayetteville , Arkansas
shall , upon approaching any vehicle driven by a horse , or horses ,
turn to the right of the center of the public highway , and he
shall also check the speed of said automobile ; and in case the an-
imal or animals become fightened at said machine , the propeller
or driver thereof is hereby required t0 immediately stop the auto -
mobile until said frightened animal or animals have passed from
said automobile .
SECTION 3 : Any person driving or propelling an automobile
within the corporate limits of the said City after dark , is hereby
required to display , or, cause to be exposed two lights in front
and one in plain view on the rear end of the machine as a warning
of danger .
SECTION 4 : Any person viotating any provision of this
Ordinance shall , upon conviction be fined
