AND ORDINANCE LAYING 'OFF CERTAII' TERRITORY ';IITHIN THE CORPORATE
LIMITS OF THE CITY OF FAYETTL17rILLE , ARKANSAS , INTO AN IMPROVE11ENT
DISTRICT FOR THE PURPOSE OF IMPROVING CERTAIE STREETS NAMED THEREIN ;
DESIGNATING THE NUMBER OF THE DISTRICT ; DEFTNING THE BOUNDARIES
THEREOF, AND NAIdING THE SA14E .
i7iEREAS , at a meeting of the city council of the City of Fay -
etteville , Arkansas , held on the 13th day of March , 1907 , a petition •
signed by ten resident owners of real property , within the district
hereinafter O.. escribed in Section One of this Ordinance , was pre -
sented to said council asking thct it take steps toward the making
of an improvement consisting of paving with macadam and with vitri -
fied brick , as described therein , of the following designated
streets and parts of streets , viz :
Mountain Street from College Avenue to Church Street ;
Center Street from College Avenue to School Street ;
Dickson Street from west line of Willow Street to a point on
said Dickson Street 248 feet west of the west line of. Arkansas
Avenue ;
East Street from Mountain Street to Dickson Street ; and
Block Street from Mountain Street to Dickson Street ; and
RHF,REAS , in said Petition it was further prayed that the
Council lay off a stipulated portion of said street or streets into
an improvement district for making said improvements , now therefore :
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FAYETTEVILLE ,

and parcels of real estate in the City of Fayetteville , Arkansas
be and the same are hereby laid off and declared to be an improve -

of Block No . 15 of the Original Plat of the City of Fayetteville ;
thence North to the center of an alley (nor closed ) extending East
and West through said Block ; thence Vest 235 feet ; thence North
parallel to College Avenue 851 feet to the North line of Lot 10 in
Block 1 , Original Plat . of the City of Fayetteville ; thence East to
the Fast line of College Avenue ; thence North along said East line
to the South line of Lot 4 of Van Hoose -Vanwinkle ' s Addition to the
City of Fayetteville ; thence East along said South line extending a
distanco of 658 feet to the East line of an alley way ( now closed ) ;
thence South to the South line of Lot 9 , belonging to N , 11 . Rag-
land ; thence East along said South line extending to the West line
of Willow Street ; thence North to the North line of Dickson Street ;
thence West along Dickson Street to the 'rest line of Willow Street ;
thence North , or northerly , to the North line of Block 17 , Masonic
Addition to the City of Fayetteville ; thence West along said North
line of Block 17 extending across Washington Avenue and across
College Avenue to the West line of said College Avenue ; thence
North of the N . E . corner of Lot . 3 of Block 100 County Court Addi -
tion to the City of Fayetteville ; thence West on the north line of
Lot 3 , and extending West in the same line to the East line of
Arkansas Avenue , so as to include all of the Streets now known as
Scott Street and Watson Avenue , also all of Lot 3 , County Court Plat

etteville ( now closed ) ; thence East in the center of said alley
and extending to the West line of College Avenue ; thence Horth tC
the S . E . corner of Block. 15 , Original Plat of Fayetteville the
place beginning . ,
Section 2 . That said district shall hereafter be known and
designated as Street Improvement District Number 3 of the City of
Fayetteville , Arkansas ,
Section 3 . That said district is laid off for the purpose of
paving said described parts of Streets with macadam in a good ,
substantial , and permanent manner of the best material available , .
except Mountain Street from the East line of East Street to the
West line of Block Street ; and Center Street from the West lino of
College Avenue to 'he West line of Block Street ; - and East Street
and Block Street between Mountain and Center Street ; that is to
say , the Streets lying around the Public Square ; and Center Street
1.� between the Public Square and College Avenue , which last- named
Streets or parts of Streets , as aboveddescribed , are to be paved
with vitrified brick inaa good , substantial , and permanent manner ,
and to build necessary curbing along the line of all of said parts
of Streets herein described in a like , good , substantial and perma -
nent manner ; said Streets and parts of Streets being as aforesaid : -

Mountain Street from College Avenue to Church Street ;
Center Street from College Avenue to School Street ;
Dickson Street from the rest line of Willow Street to a point
on said Dickson Street 248 feet Test of the 'Nest line of
Arkansas Avenue ;
East Street from Mountain Street to Dickson Street ;
Block Street from Pdountain . Street . to . Dickson . Street ;
and said improvements shall be made in such manner and to the ex -
tent hereinafter to be more fully designated and determined by the
majority in value of the owners of real property within such Dis -
trict .
Section 4 , That Ordinance No . 195 , passed and approved
August 30th , 1906 , and all other ordinances and parts of .ordinances
in conflict herewith , be and the same are hereby repealed , and this
Ordinance shall take effect and be in force from and after its
passage , approval , and publication .
