An Ordinance fixing the rate chargeable for water

Be it ordained by the City Council of the City of
myetteville , Arkansas :

section 1 . i,hat Crdinance number 163 entitled an ordinance
fixing the rates for :furnishing' Vjai; eY' '1) 0 '1:Ae -Deorle of t!:e
City of Fayetteville , Arkansas , passed by the City Council and
approved April 2nd , I906 , . be and the same is hereby repealed
and the provisionsof section I4of ordinance number I35 , • entitled
" an ordinance to provide for supplying with water the streets ,
lanes , alleys , - squares , and public placesin the City of Fayett -
eville , Arkansas , and contracting with the Fayetteville tater
Company , a corporation under the laws of the state of Arkansas ;
its successors and assigns for the purpose of supplying with
watersuch streets , lanes , alleys , squares and public places " ,
are hereby re - enacted as follows : - " Section I4 " , the water rate
to consumers shall not exceedthirty five cents , ( $ . 35 ) , per one
thousand ,gallo s , ( I000 ) , approximated for the several purposes
as follows : Ii { ovided that schedule rate herein after named
be and the name is hereby declared to be the minimiur� charge
for the wl�ter su ply herein named , and that when the consumer

uses more water than he would be entitled to at the schedule
rate , -. met r price of thirty five cents , ( .x . 35 ) per one thousand

provided that they er hau lers furnish their customers with

water at reasonable rates and said Fayetteville WMiee company
its successors and assigns will refuse to make rates to water

haulers unless reasonable rates are made by such haulers to
their customers . Rents for all prpposes not herein before enum-
erated will be fixed by estimates of meter measurement ; in any . I
instance not to exceed thirty five cents per thousand. ( I000 )
gallons ; provided however that theb party requiring the water
must pay the expense of the same . dater rents shall be due and
payable monthly in advance from the owner of ' the property ,

Sec . 2 . That this ordinance shall -take effect and be in force
from and after its passage and publication .
