HomeMy WebLinkAboutOrdinance 188 AN ORDINANCE TO ASSESS CERTAIN PROPERTY ON WASHINGTON AVENUE
A STREET OF THE CITY .OF FAYETTEVILLE ARKANSAS, FOR THE PURPOSE OF
RAISING REVENUE FOR MACADAMIZED AND OTHERWISE IMPROVED SAID STREET .
Whereas the majority in value of the property holders , owning
property adjoining the locality to be affected , and situated in
Improvement district No . 2 , created by ordinance of the city council
of the City of Fayetteville , Arkansas , duly passed and published and
organized for the purpose of Macadamizing and otherwise improving
that portion of Washington Avenue , a street in said City , have pe-
titioned the council of said city for the construction of said
improvement , and that the cost thereof shall be assessod upon the real
proporty of said district ; and ,
Whereas the benefits received by each and every block , lot and par-
cel of real property eituatod in said district equals or exceeds
the local assessmont thereon ,
Be it therefore ordained by the City council of the City of Fay-
etteville , Arkansas .
Section 1 . That all the real property situated in improvement
district number 2 , of the City of Fayetteville , be assessed at the
rate of five per centum on the dollarm of the assessed valuation ,
as the same appears by the assessment , made by the assessor of
Washington County, Arkansas , according to the last assessment on
file in the county clerk' s office of said county.
Section 2 . That said assessment shall be collectable and payable
in successive installments as follows : that one par centum on the
dollar of said assessed valuation of said real property as the same
appears by the said assessment aforesaid , be paid and collected on
or before -0ctober lat . 1906 and that one per centum on the dollar
of the assessed valuation of said real property as shoum by tha
last assessment on file in the county Clerk' s office as aforesaid ,
be paid and collected on or before October 1 , in each succeeding
year until the entire amount of the cost of said improvement
shall have been fully paid .
That this ordinance shall take effect and be in force from and
after its passage and publication and all ordinances and parts
of ordinances in conflict herewith aro hereby repealed .
