TO EXTEND ITS ;3AIN ON COLLEGE AVENUE AND ON WASHINGTON
AVENUE .
Whereas the water pipe on Washington Avenue between
Laple street and Davidson Avenus is inadequate in size . for
proper water service for the present population bn said
street ; and whereas the city in said vicinity is rapidly
improving ; and whereas the citizens have formed an improve -
ment district to macadamize said street and want proper main
provided before said I%acadam is laid ; and
Whereas there is no main on College Avenue , between Maple Street
and Davidson Avenue , and the population is such as to demand
the same ; and ;
Ydhercas the citizen along said street are preparing to
macadamize the same ; now therefore , be it ordained by
the City Council of the City of Fayetteville : -
Section 1 . That the Fayetteville Nater Company be and it is
hereby directed to extend its water main from a connection

with Ito main pipe at Maple Street and „ashingbon Avenue
northward , one block to Davidson Avenue , Said main to be
equal in size to the main southwest fro: . said point .
Section 2 . That the Fayetteville water Company be and it
is hereby required and directed to extend its water main
on College Avenue at I.aple street northward one block
to Davidson Avenue . Said main to be equal in size to
the main southward from said point .

Section 3 . That, the said `,'later Company be ro .luired
to mak :: out and complete said extensions within forty days
after the passage of this ordinance , and in the: event of its
failure that it forfeit and pay to the City as a penalty the
sum of twenty five hundred dollars for each day and every
day that it shall rail or neglect to make said extensions .
Section 4 . That this ordinance take effect from and after
its passage .
