AN ORDINA14CE FOR THE PUNISHMENT OF ASSAULT AND BATTERY.
Be it ordained by the City Council of the City of Fayetteville ,
Arkansas .
tSection 1 . That any person who shall commit a simple assault
within the corporate limits of the City of Fayetteville shall be
deemed guilty of a misdemeanor and upon conviction , shall be fined
in any sum not exceeding on hundred dollars .
MAS Section 2 . That any person who shall be deemed guilty of an
U '� 1 assault and battery shall be fined in any sum not exceeding two
hundred dollars .
Section 3 . If any person shall assault another with a deadly
weapon, instrument or thing with intent; to inflict upon the person
O"� y of another , a bodily injury , when no considerable provocation
els appears or when circumstance of the assaulat show an abandoned
4 p � and malignant disposition , he shall be adjudged guilty of a mis -
demeanor and , on conviction fined in any sum not less than
fifty dollars nor exceeding one thousand dollars and imprisoned
not exceeding one year .
Section 4 . That his ordinance take effect and be in force from
and after its passage .
