AN ORDIIdANCF PROVIDING FOR THF BUILDING , M-tRUILDING , REPAIRING
AND N. AINTAINING FOOT PAVF?I' 7N 'S OR SIDEWALKS AND CURBING ON AND
ALONG ALL PROPERTY ARUTTING ON THF STRFFTS AND PURLIC SOUARFS

Be it ordained by the council of the city of Fayetteville,
` Arkansas .
USection 1 . That the owner or owners of all lots and real
property within said cite of Fayetteville which abutt on the
straets ' or publick squares therein, are hereby required to build,
rebuild, repair and maintain foot 'riaverments or sidewalks , improve-
meats and curbing there along when ordered so to do by resolution
of the city council and r:hen notified of such resolution as
hereinafter provided .
Section 2. . When the city council shall deem it expedient
to have such oiderralk and curbing built , rebuilt or repaired
they shall pass a resolution ordering the owner or o•rrners of the
property abutting on the street or public snuare along which
the same is pro*)osed to be constructed , to make the same . Upon
the pasaage of such resolution it shall be the duty of the city
recorder to issue and deliver to the city Harshal a notice to the
owner or owners of the pasnag of such resolution and further
notify such o:,ner that upon his failure , neglect or refusal to
construct , reconstruct or repair slid side�ralk or curbing in the
manner provided by this ordinance within thirty days from the
service of said notice upon him , said city will proceed to con- .
tract <;,ith some suitable person to construct , reconstruct or
repair the same and will charge the cost therso £ together rrith
the penalty provided by l -uv, against said property and as a
lien therein .
