An ordinance to prohibit boys and girls from b6ing on the streets
at night , within the city of Fayetteville , Arkansas .
. Be it ordained by the City Council of the City of Fayetteville
Arkansas .
Section 1 . That hereafter it shall be unlawful for any person ,
male or female , under the age of sixteen years to be .on any street ,
alley or square or any other public place within the City of
Fayetteville Arkansas , at night after the second call is sounded
on the fire call , as hereinafter provided , except such persons as
are accompanied by his& , or her parent or guardian or who shall hc: ve
with him or her the written consent of such parent or guardian .
Section 2 . The City night watchman shall sound the regular
call on the fire bell by giving one tap- - - then two taps - - - - and
then one tap and in fifteen minutes later shall sound the same call
again .
Section 3 . Between the lst of April and the 1st of November
each year , such first call shall be sounded at 8 ; 45 . p . m . and
during the remainder of the year the first call shall be sounded at
7 . 45 p . m .
Section 4 . It shall be the duty of the city night watch -
man or other officer to arrest all persons violating this
ordinance and lock them up until morning in the City prison unless
bond is given when he shall take such persons before the Mayor for
trial .
Section 5 . All persons found on any street , alley , square or
other public place in violation of this ordinance shall be deemed
guilty of a misdemeanor and upon conviction shall be fined in
any sum not exceeding five dollars .
Section 6 . That all ordinances or all parts of ordinances
in conflict with this ordinance be and the same are hereby repealed
and this ordinance shall take effect from and after its passage and
publication .
