A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE CITY OF
FAYETTEVILLE TO ENTER INTO A 50/50 COST SHARING
AGREEMENT WITH THE ARKANSAS STATE HIGHWAY AND
TRANSPORTATION DEPARTMENT FOR THE WIDENING OF
AN APPROXIMATELY ONE MILE SECTION OF STATE
HIGHWAY 16 LOCATED WEST OF U.S. HIGHWAY 71.
WHEREAS,the Arkansas State Highway& Transportation Department has contacted the
City of Fayetteville regarding the widening of State Highway 16 from U.S. Highway 71 west to the
vicinity of Meadowlands Drive, a distance of approximately one mile; and,
WHEREAS, the widening of State Highway 16 is contingent upon a 50/50 cost sharing
agreement with the City of Fayetteville; and,
WHEREAS, the City of Fayetteville is agreeable to share the costs of widening Highway
16 upon a 50/50 basis.
NOW,THEREFORE,BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF FAYETTEVILLE, ARKANSAS:
Section 1. That the Mayor is authorized to enter into a 50/50 cost sharing agreement with
the Arkansas State Highway and Transportation Department for the widening of State Highway 16
from U.S. Highway 71 west to the vicinity of Meadowlands Drive, a distance of approximately one
