A RESOLUTION NAMING E. LAMAR PETTUS AND THOMAS
D. STOCKLAND COMMISSIONERS OF THE OFF STREET
PARKING DISTRICT NO. 1 OF THE CITY OF FAYETTEVILLE,
ARKANSAS PURSUANT TO A.C.A. §14-88-304(b).
WHEREAS, a petition has been filed with the City Council of the City of Fayetteville,
Arkansas signed by five(5)or more property owners in the Off-Street Parking District No. 1 of the
City of Fayetteville, Arkansas reciting that John Lewis and Leon Fowler are no longer property
owners within said parking district; and
WHEREAS, said petition was accompanied by a corroborative certificate of an abstractor;
and
WHEREAS, A.C.A. §14-88-304(b) states that upon the filing of the above petition and
certificate, John Lewis and Leon Fowler automatically cease to be commissioners of said parking
district; and
WHEREAS, A.C.A. §14-88-304(b) states that John Lewis and Leon Fowler's offices are
declared to be vacant from the date of the filing of the petition; and
WHEREAS, E. Lamar Pettus and Thomas D. Stockland are named in said petition and
recommended for commissioners of said parking district to fill the vacancies created and are property
owners in said parking district; and
WHEREAS,A.C.A. §14-88-304(b) states that the Fayetteville City Council as the council
that created said parking district shall forthwith name as commissioner(s) of the parking district to
fill the vacancy(ies)the person(s)named in the petition and recommended for commissioner(s) of
the district if the person(s) are a property owner in the district.
NOW,THEREFORE,BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF FAYETTEVILLE,ARKANSAS:
Section 1. That E. Lamar Pettus and Thomas D. Stockland are hereby named and
appointed commissioners of the Off-Street Parking District No. 1 of the City of Fayetteville, to
eplace dohn'Lewis and Leon Fowler pursuant to A.C.A.§14-88-304(b).
