Goals for 2026 — From our meeting in January.
The Urban Forestry Advisory Board's goal for 2026 is to strengthen
community engagement and trust through increased outreach on invasive
species, enhanced transparency, and expanded promotion of the
Fayetteville Community Forester Program. We aim to improve public
awareness through targeted advertising and ensure greater data visibility to
support informed decision-making.

Planting Projects for 2026
Park Meadows 2 – Adding a few additional trees requested by residents. We planted 200
trees in this neighborhood last fall, and neighbors who missed that round have asked for
trees. Fewer than 20 trees will be added. Plans are in draft and should be finalized shortly,
with installation scheduled by April 15.
Sang Detention Pond – Currently in the conceptual planning stage.
Cottages on Old Wire – Plans are complete. We are coordinating with the POA to confirm
tree selections.
St. Paul’s – One tree pending; waiting for improved weather conditions for planting.
Ozark Chinquapin Pilot – Meeting with Tas to be scheduled.
Sloanbrook on Broyles – Planned as a fall project.
New Business
Public Comments – The By Laws Subcommittee that is reviewing the rules, recommends
adding a five-minute period for public comments or questions after each section of the
agenda.
Example: Five minutes after the reports and presentation, five minutes after
Unfinished Business, five minutes after New Business. This is for each
section of the agenda. If the board agrees, we can add this to the agenda for
March.
