Mountain Street Fayetteville, AR 72701 www.fayetteville-ar.gov CITY COUNCIL MEMO 2025-2476 MEETING OF DECEMBER 16, 2025 TO:Mayor Rawn and City Council THRU:Keith Macedo, Chief of Staff FROM:Justine Lentz, Animal Services Superintendent SUBJECT: Approval of a resolution to approve a budget adjustment for Animal Services RECOMMENDATION: Staff recommends approval of a budget adjustment to recognize and allocate the Animal Services donation revenue from January 1 through November 17, 2025, in the amount of $486,948.00. BACKGROUND: Animal Services would like to recognize donation from revenue from citizens and businesses made from January 1 through November 17, 2025. These funds are donated by our generous community members to benefit the animal cared for by Animal Services. We greatly appreciate their support. In addition, this year, Fayetteville Animal Services received four generous bequests from community members who chose to leave a legacy of compassion for animals. We are deeply grateful for this support. These gifts will allow us to further enrich the lives of the pets in our care and expand the services we provide to the community. They include: Mr. Frank S. Price $12,000 Mr. Price was a retired teacher with a lifelong passion for teaching, learning and creating. During his free time working on cars was his favorite pastime. Upon retiring, he moved to Butterfield Trail Village where he enjoyed creating interesting mobile items from scrap, hiking and gardening, and creating items with stained glass. Ms. Betty Miller $175,000 Betty's career began at Herman's Rib House, where she met her husband, Allan L. Miller. She later dedicated many years to Campbell Soup, adapting through various company transitions. Betty was known for her kind, caring, and honest demeanor, coupled with her sense of humor and a strong work ethic. Betty cherished walking her dog, Grace, tending to her flowers in her garden, and feeding the birds. Ms. Susan J. Shelton $250,000 She was a Fayetteville High School graduate and worked for the Springdale School District floating between TG Smith and Parson Hills as an elementary music teacher until her retirement in 2014. Ms. Shelton was an animal lover throughout her entire life. Ms. Barbara Starr Roberts $10,000 Barbara graduated from Fayetteville High School in 1956. She pursued her passion for social work, earning her bachelor's degree from the University of Arkansas. She dedicated many years to serving the community through her work with Fayetteville Public Schools. Barbara would come every winter to the Fayetteville Animal Mailing address: 113 W.
