1. Call to Order and Roll Call – Hershey Garner, Chair
2. Approval of the April 9, 2025 minutes
a. Approved by Huda Sharaf
i. Seconded by Gary Berner
3. Infectious Diseases
a. Gary Berner stated Flu and Covid rates are low
i. Will watch to see what immunization recommendations will be in the Fall
b. Huda Sharaf stated she is already receiving questions from the campus community
i. Depending on the FDA recommendations if you don’t fall within the
recommendation there might be an out-of-pocket expense for those that still want
to receive the Covid vaccine in the Fall
c. Lenny Whiteman stated hospitalization numbers are low
d. Measles and MMR Discussion
i. Gary Berner stated there was concern at the last meeting and where that would be
going but measles has calmed.
1. Localized outbreaks are stable
2. NWA is not considered an outbreak area
4. Social Determinants of Health
a. Cody Strange and Steven Jennings gave a presentation to the board regarding the
Fayetteville PD Crisis Intervention Response Team (CIRT) Program Update
i. CIRT Goals
- Reduce criminalization for those with mental health and substance abuse issues
- Identify victims of crimes who need resources
- Enhance community trust
- Collect data to evaluate effectiveness
b. Gary Berner stated he would like feedback for the October meeting regarding Social
Determinants of Health. He would like to see someone speak on Medicaid Enrollment

i. Brief discussion regarding changing meeting dates to January, May, September
1. Will discuss further at October meeting
