A RESOLUTION TO EXPRESS THE CITY COUNCIL'S INTENT TO APPROPRIATE UP TO $450,000.00
FROM THE GENERAL FUND BALANCE TO SUPPORT INITIATIVES ADDRESSING HOMELESSNESS
WHEREAS, to further the City's commitment to addressing homelessness, the Mayor's Office has recommended that
the City allocate up to $450,000.00 from the General Fund balance to create a dedicated pool for emergency housing
funding; and
WHEREAS, this funding will be distributed to organizations and initiatives that demonstrate a direct and measurable
impact on improving outcomes for the unhoused population; and
WHEREAS, the homelessness working group has met three times and is making progress toward identifying projects
that will have a lasting impact and build the capacity of existing service organizations; and
WHEREAS, City staff will present proposals for individual projects to the City Council along with a budget
adjustment for approval.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FAYETTEVILLE,
ARKANSAS:
Section 1: That the City Council of the City of Fayetteville, Arkansas hereby expresses its intent to appropriate up to
$450,000.00 from the General Fund balance to support initiatives addressing homelessness.

RECOMMENDATION:
Mayor Rawn is sponsoring a resolution of intent to appropriate up to $450,000.00 from the General Fund
balance to support initiatives addressing homelessness.

No budget impact at this time. A budget adjustment will accompany individual projects as they are presented to
the City Council for approval.
