Subject:RZN-2025-0014: Rezone (1314 S. ELLIS AVE/SIEMEK)
CAUTION: This email originated from outside of the City of Fayetteville. Do not click links or open attachments unless you recognize
the sender and know the content is safe.
I sent an email already, but I thought of a few key problems with this Rezone.
The burden will be on neighbors to deal with:
*Neighbor Parking and their guest parking
*Noise and music.
*Privacy. (In your yard).
*safety for children
There are no assurances for any of this.
*Parking
Neighbors will have to jump through hoops to establish a new parking district by City Council. Approval is
required to establish a new district, regulations of which would be determined/approved by City Council.
Since this in a S Fayetteville neighborhood, there are no parking garages, and parking lots like in the
entertainment district of downtown.
When the cafe hold special events and host private parties it will further inhibit residential parking.
Where will the parking be for the cafe? The tenants of their apartments already park on the street.
*Noise and Music.
The houses surrounding this are smaller older homes. Noise like traffic, car doors opening and closing, will be
heard.
What if they play music outdoors during business hours as many cafe and other businesses do. Sure, they
have to abide by noise requirements by the city. But what if they play music continually that you don't like. I
would go nuts if I would have to listen to someone else's music all day. Especially when they hold events and
host parties, neighbors will have to listen to that music too. I love music, but everyone has different taste in
music.
*Property owners have the right to the quiet enjoyment of their property. That means that they should be able
to use their property without interference from others. Nuisances can include loud music and noisy neighbors.
*Privacy
Neighbors garden, mow lawns, and wash cars, etc., no one wants to watched by strangers. It's a privacy issue,
not an issue of strangers committing crimes.
It's a safety issue as there are children in the neighborhood.
These may seem trivial, but just imagine if it was across the street or nextdoor to you.
Please do not approve this ill-thought out proposal.
