A RESOLUTION TO AUTHORIZE ACCEPTANCE OF A GRANT FROM THE FAYETTEVILLE AREA
COMMUNITY FOUNDATION IN THE AMOUNT OF $1,500.00 TO PURCHASE ITEMS NEEDED FOR
THE KITCHEN SPACE AT THE YVONNE RICHARDSON COMMUNITY CENTER, AND TO APPROVE A
BUDGET ADJUSTMENT
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FAYETTEVILLE, ARKANSAS:
Section 1: That the City Council of the City of Fayetteville, Arkansas hereby authorizes acceptance of the Fayetteville
Area Community Foundation’s Giving Tree Grant award in the amount of $1,500.00 to purchase items needed for the
kitchen space at the Yvonne Richardson Community Center.
Section 2: That the City Council of the City of Fayetteville, Arkansas hereby approves a budget adjustment, a copy of
which is attached to this Resolution.

SUBJECT: Approval to accept a grant and approve a budget adjustment in the amount of $1,500
from the Fayetteville Area Community Foundation
RECOMMENDATION:
Approval to accept a grant in the amount of $1,500 from the Fayetteville Area Community Foundation through
their Giving Tree Grant Program and approve a budget adjustment.
BACKGROUND:
The YRCC will soon reopen with a new instructional kitchen. This space will enhance existing programs such
as Kid Crops and will allow the center to expand programming and rentals centered around cooking and
nutritional education.
DISCUSSION:
Grant funds requested from the Arkansas Community Foundation’s Giving Tree program will allow the YRCC
to purchase small appliances, cookware, plateware, silverware, safety items, and more that is needed for the
kitchen space to function properly and serve the needs of building users.
BUDGET/STAFF IMPACT:
The Giving Tree grant is a non-match grant. Grant funding will be used to purchase kitchen equipment and
supplies needed for programming and general facility use for the new space.

Dear Tiffany:
Thank you for the Giving Tree grant application that you submitted to the Fayetteville Area Affiliate of the Arkansas Community
Foundation. We are happy to let you know that your proposal to support the purchase of kitchen equipment for YRCC’s newly
renovated kitchen was approved for $1,500.
We all enjoyed reading about the services provided by the Yvonne Richardson Center and we want to thank you for all your
organization does for our community. The ability to provide support for your efforts sounds like a wonderful service we can help
with, and we look forward to hearing about the results shown in this project.
This year our board has decided on a more personal way to distribute checks. Instead of mailing the checks to recipients, we
would like to deliver your grant check in person at a time that is mutually convenient. I’ll be back in touch with you to select
some options for dates.
We wish you the utmost success in your future endeavors and will continue to keep your organization in mind when, and if,
additional funding opportunities come available in the future.
