To: Fayetteville City Council
Hello, I hope this reaches you well. I’m Morgan Hamby and I currently live in Park Meadows on Morningside. I do not
think the city should pursue with housing the unhoused behind our neighborhood and community. While I am not
opposed or against housing the unhoused, I do not believe it is in everyone’s best interest to locate them so close to our
community of new families, children, and college students. This is very dangerous and not to mention that Park
Meadows already has other crime involvement. As if our neighborhood does not already have rather “sketchy”
individuals that walk around the neighborhood making my roommates and I (college kids) feel unsafe in the comfort of
our own home. From my own opinions to the opinions of others living in the community, no one believes that this
specific spot is the right idea. I am all for homeless shelters until they are in my backyard. Very unsafe and it is
disappointing that this is being considered.
