Dear Council Members
I strongly support amending the City code as Counsel members Stafford and Moore are proposing regarding “student
dormitories”.
I live at the top of Markham Hill and we are already experiencing severe unintended consequences of increased water
runoff and street deterioration as results of the major buildout of the hilltop; and this project still has years left before
completion.
Any new projects that are to be considered that impact both the topography and density of a neighborhood must be
scrutinized in greater detail before given the green light to proceed.
Staff needs more leeway to do their due diligence. This proposed amendment to City Code seems to provide them with
another set of tools in which to investigate the feasibility of a proposed project while also honoring the need for more
housing.
I hope you will give this proposal serious deliberation and vote Yes.
I appreciate your service to our city.
Marsha Scott
