To Whom It May Concern,
In response to the proposed parking ordinance on the agenda for the next city council meeting,
Fayetteville Strong would like to submit an ordinance impact analysis for your consideration.
This analysis, developed by Fayetteville resident Aaron Caldwell and Fayetteville Strong
leadership, examines these proposed changes through a Strong Towns perspective,
demonstrating how they contradict evidence-based urban planning principles. We've focused
on how the proposed amendments would effectively reinstate commercial parking mandates
through indirect means, increase costs, and disproportionately burden small businesses and
affordable housing projects. We believe that this ordinance does not align with the goals of
City Plan 2040 and would worsen the Housing Crisis.
We would like to kindly request that our impact analysis be included in the Agenda Packet for
the April 29th Agenda Session & May 6th City Council Meeting. Please find it attached to this
email.
Best Regards
