The Neighborhood Interest Forum was called to order at 5:34 by Chairman Will Dockery.
Those present were: Will Dockery, Donna Daniels, Terry Mitchell. Lisa Orton, Sonya Zimmer, Nancy
Allen, Yolanda Fields, and Mayor Lioneld Jordan.
Yolanda Fields, Director of Community Resources for the City of Fayetteville, explained to the neighbors
present, the repair and rehabilitation program available to those with lower incomes and gave handouts
to those at the Forum.
Neighborhood updates were given to those present.
A “Purpose Statement” was proposed. It reads as follows:
Promote communications, collaboration and cooperation between neighborhoods and
organizations within the City of Fayetteville to foster a sense of community.
Provide a forum to discuss common neighborhood issues and solutions.
It was approved by those present and a vote to finalize it is planned for the next meeting.
Mayor Jordan asked that the Forum work on a definition of “family”.
That, along with a vote on the Purpose Statement and suggestions about attendance were placed on the
agenda for the next meeting which will be held September 19th at 5:30
The meeting was adjourned at 7:04.
