BACKGROUND: Expansion unit 851 (TRAN_F139) will be a Caterpillar model 308 compact Excavator as approved in the FY25 budget. 6011 (TRAN_F024) is a 2015 John Deere 524K Wheel Loader and has reached replacement with 12.1 points 6014 (PRKS_F020) is a 2015 CAT 420 backhoe and has reached replacement with 12.6 points 6015 (TRAN_F027) is a 2015 CAT 420 backhoe and has reached replacement with 13.4 points 6020 (TRAN_F025) is a 2016 CAT 420 backhoe and has reached replacement with 13.6 points DISCUSSION: For the purpose of fleet standardization, inventory minimization and equipment familiarization for both operators and Fleet maintenance, we are replacing all these assets with Caterpillar products. Fleet Operations has additionally made an investment in Caterpillar diagnostic software and training. These replacement assets will be for the Transportation and Parks Maintenance divisions. The expansion excavator will be for the Transportation Sidewalk Construction crew, which was approved in the FY25 budget. BUDGET/STAFF IMPACT: The expansion excavator came in under budget. The replacement units we expect to fully collect on upon surplus of the old units. These items were unanimously approved at the December 10th Equipment Committee.
