Chloe Bell, Mary Sue Price, and Amanda Reyer were absent. Approval of Meeting Agenda (6:02) • Motion to approve agenda by Emily Miller, approved Approval of the Minutes (6:02) • The October 16th minutes were reviewed and approved. Work Plan Report—Joanna Bell (6:02) • Joanna Bell updated the council the end of programming for the year and the murals at the Wilson park courts. Proposal Reviews/Discussion: (6:03) • Joanna Bell updated the selection committee’s picks of K. Lommen and Page Dirkson and they are looking for arts council’s approval • Jessica Debari motion to approve mural for the parks 100 W. Street Building, approved unanimously. Arts and Culture plan update—Jill Stilwell and Kendall Peterson (6:10) • Jill Stilwell and Kendall Peterson introduced the council the Arts and Culture plan draft of the executive summary and implementation. • Jill Stillwell and Kendall Peterson went over the Arts and Culture Plan because NWA is a cultural tourism hub but Arkansas Arts is overall underrepresented. • There are gaps in a vibrant arts and cultural ecosystem and the arts and culture plan can aid in future planning. • Jill Stillwell presented the 5 Community Priorities from the plan: Cultivate, Creative Spaces, Lead, Sustain, and Place making. • The council reviewed each priority with a focus in funding and economy. • Kendall Peterson highlighted the need to “cross pollinate” with outside artists, audience, and regions. • “Growing the whole pie” working towards engaged community.” • Jill and Kendall presented the implementation aspects of the plan to the Arts Council and the overall city’s role. • Collaborating, convening, and connection highlight the plan’s goals for city engagement. • The plan recommendation for the arts council is for an evolving role. • This includes liaising with CACHE, defined responsibilities, advocating arts in the community. • The council reviewed the plan’s goal for city financial considerations. • The plan covered potential funding mechanisms such as private and public options. • Jill and Kendall reviewed the plan’s implementation short term and long term goals. • Motion to send plan to Parks board by Bob Stafford, approved unanimously. Notes from the Field/Opportunities/Current Calls for Artists (7:14) • Jessica Debari updated the council on the call for art exhibits for the Mt. Sequoyah gallery Other Business and Public Comment • There were no attendees for public comment. The meeting was adjourned by Chloe Bell at 7:17
