HomeMy WebLinkAbout2024-09-12 - Minutes -Meeting Minutes BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS AGENDA SESSION – SEPTEMBER 12, 2024, 5:00 PM I. Call to Order The Fayetteville Housing Authority Board of Commissioners Agenda Session was called to order on Thursday, September 12, 2024 at 5pm via Zoom II. Roll Call Commissioners Cole, Moore, Humphrey, and Woods were present, forming quorum. Also present were Executive Director Tapley and Director of Programs West. III. Approval of the Agenda Unanimously approved as amended IV. Action Items A. Resolution 1323: Approving Bedbug Remediation at Hillcrest Towers Executive Director Tapley asked for approval to spend up to $30,000 to remediate bedbugs at Hillcrest Towers. There was discussion as to how this would impact the residents. FHA is looking into all options in order to minimize hardship for the residents at Hillcrest Towers. The current proposal is for $26,000, and is considered a necessary expense. The motion was seconded and passed unanimously. B. Resolution 1329: Approving Willow Heights Projects Executive Director Tapley noted that official resolutions were missing during the HUD compliance review for the previously approved rehabilitation and air conditioner unit installation projects. There was discussion clarifying that the board had already agreed upon the project expense and Executive Director Tapley does not want to cut checks unless there is a signed resolution. Commissioner Humphrey motioned to table this for the regular meeting in order to review the contracts. The motion did not receive a second. Commissioner Cole made a motion to approve the resolution as presented. The motion was seconded and passed unanimously. Commissioner Humphrey opened discussion on ensuring that documents are given to the board with enough time to review them. This was added as new business for the next meeting. C. REAC Inspection Executive Director Tapley updated the board on the upcoming REAC inspection and that the team is working on compliance and minimizing deficiencies.
