I am writing to express my steadfast support for rezoning the College Avenue corridor. This impressive project is more than just the result of grand visions laid out by previous leaders or many years of work by city planning staff. It has not happened in a vacuum or closed rooms within city hall—it is the product of many years of hard work by passionate citizens who want to see noticeable changes in the built environment of our beloved city. This project perfectly aligns with the six goals outlined in City Plan 2040 for creating a city that promotes the efficient use of land and resources, reduces urban sprawl, and encourages the use of public transportation. If approved, this would be a noticeable action to begin chipping away at the annual housing unit deficit the city has experienced over the last several years, leading to our current housing crisis. Zoning reform is a necessary first step to alleviating that crisis. Creating housing units along a major corridor such as College Avenue will create a vibrant, resilient, diverse, and sustainable community for current and future residents alike. Thank you for your service to our city, for your vision of an even better city, and for your commitment to serve all citizens alike. I ask that you please vote in favor of this proposal. Nick Thorn, AIA 629 N Gray Avenue Fayetteville 1
